Mining Products
Thank you for visiting the Holywell website. Holywell Mining is a division of the Holywell Group of Companies Founded in 1965 as a sales agency for Schwarz pit props by David Little, mining engineer and the group chairman.

The comapny continues to be run today by his son Andrew Little. The comapny rapidly diversified into new products for mine roadways, developing a high level of expertise in materials handling technology culminating in the Microcon 8085, a micro-computer based environmental control system with remote signalling facilities. It also provided a wide range of mining consumables from pit props to underground pneumatic transport systems. Anticipating the decline of its major customer, British Coal, Holywell undertook a strategy of diversification to apply its skills to other industries such as tunnelling and offshore.

Its involvement in all aspects of deep mining, including roadway support equipment, ventilation, monitoring, conveying, materials handling, pneumatic conveying, safety and belt conveyor maintenance and recovery, has left a legacy of skills applicable in vast range of situations. Holywell’s sub-contracting flexibility is reflected in the wide array of equipment available at its Northeast factories.
