Belt Reeler / Trimmer

CONVEYOR BELT EDGE CUTTING DEVICE
Recycles damaged belting to extend life and cut costs

belt reeler

The Holywell belt edge cutting unit is designed to work in conjunction with the Holywell belt recovery system. It will remove damaged edges from otherwise sound, reusable belting. Trimming can be done from one side, both sides at once and depending on damage,. it can be set to remove differential widths from either side.

Incoming belts can be up to 1200mm (48") to 900mm (36"), these can be cut to a minimum of 750mm (30") or any increment between 1200 /750mm (48"/30"). Units to cut belt widths below 750mm (30") can be supplied to order.
Four Vertical and four horizontal guide rollers ensure a smooth feed for accurate, controlled cutting. The Vertical rollers are set to the incoming belt width and after removal of the initial strip a down-stream pair are set tightly to the new belt width. The horizontal rollers, the top two of which are adjustable, are used to hold the belt in a true horizontal path through the cutting area.
Cutting tools are reversible and have two cutting edges. Careful heat treatment ensures that optimum ductility and wear resistance are obtained. Two bolts clamp the cutters within a tool holder and two further bolts clamp the tool holder at the desired position on the cutter shaft.

Fixed deflector guides are incorporated in the main frame to ensure that trimmed waste edges do not become entrained in the reeling process.
When fitted to the Holywell belt recovery unit the system offers an easy method of trimming and reeling belts for immediate re-use. Only two unskilled operators are required to fully recover substantial lengths of belting which would otherwise be discarded. The savings which can be
achieved mean that the payback time on investing in this system can be measured in weeks. Contact us now for further details of the Holywell Belt Recovery System.

CONVEYOR ROLLER UNIT
Power transmission unit for manless transfer points

belt reeler

Hydraulic power can be generated from most types of belt conveyance operations by using the new Holywell Power Transmission Unit. Incorporating a tension drive roller arrangement and gearbox, the unit eliminates the need for on site electrical equipment. Primarily, the unit has been designed to power the Holywell hydraulically driven Fines Conveyors, but can be used to drive other equipment requiring similar supply.

  • Reduces on site electrical demand and running costs.

  • Easy to install on most types of conveyors.

  • Simple to adjust to operational conditions.

  • Reduced maintenance costs.

  • Can be configured to primary belt de-watering

  • Units to suit belt widths of: 900mm (36"), 1050 (42") and 1200 (48")

SPECIFICATION
Type 8.3323 Power Transmission Unit. This robust unit incorporates a very compact bevel gearbox complete with fixed displacement pump assembly operating at up to 120 bar (1750 p.s.i.). For belt speeds of 2 and 3 metres per second, a flow of 24 to 36 litres per minute can be generated. System overload protection is provided by a pump mounted pressure relief valve. The centre drive roller is rubber covered to improve transmission efficiency. It can be pre-set for the majority of applications, but is easily adjusted on site to the correct tension for anomalous conditions and for wear compensation. System normally supplied complete with hydraulic fluid reservoir and control panel.

BELT REELING UNIT

belt reeler

The Holywell belt reeling unit has been designed to reduce the high costs encountered in conveyor belt handling operations. The unit can be hydraulically, pneumatically or electrically operated and belt widths of 36" (900mm), 42" (1050mm)and 48" (1200mm) can be reeled. Holywell can supply units for wider belt applications to suit customer requirements. It can be used effectively at trunk conveyor repair stations or in retreat mining applications. Unit structural design ensures easy transportation to operational sites and low manpower assembly requirements.
